When an elder dies,

A library burns.

— African Proverb

I know the pain of regret.

I neglected to capture my mother’s story before she passed, and I’ll never get that chance back. You don’t have to live with that regret like I do.

That’s why I built this framework — and why so many people have already used it to capture their stories.

Here are a few of them:

Ms. Mardeen Carrie Cassel

Wrote about the 5 women who "mothered" her and how they impacted her as an adult and mother herself.

Khabirah Yahya

Dr. Yahya wanted to honor her grandfather. She gathered the stories of his children (including her mother) into a single book, ensuring his legacy lived on after he passed.

Dr. Gwen

Dr. Gwen came in to tell the story of growing up in a rural village to getting her PHD and all the peaks and valleys along the way.

Hon. Neletha Butterfield

Author of 11 books, including one she swore she would never write. (I’ll share what changed her mind, and why it matters.)

Baheejah Shakoor

Sr. Baheejah Shakoor began documenting her spiritual and family life for her grandchildren, but when she couldn’t finish, her husband stepped in to complete it — proving a legacy can truly be a family project.

The time to capture your story is NOW.

They preserved their stories.

You can too.

A Personal Memoir

Quiet real estate investor Delores Daaimah Jardan, wrote her life story at 88, detailing how she went from being an early widow to building wealth in real estate and contributing to excellence in the CA community.

A Family Legacy Anthology

The grandaughter of "Pepe", Dr. Khabirah Yahya gathered the stories of her grandfather’s children (including her mother) into a single volume, ensuring his legacy lived on after he passed.

An Academic Tretise

Instead of a traditional memoir, Dr. El-Amin captured his lifetime reflections on humanity and where we’re headed — a timeless gift of wisdom for his family and community..

A Tribute to Her Son

Former Minister of Education for Bermuda, Dr. Butterfield has authored 11 books, including one she never thought she would write. (I’ll share what changed and why it matters.)

A Personal Family Story

Retired nurse Shakoor began documenting her spiritual and family life for her grandchildren, but when she couldn’t finish, her husband stepped in to complete it — proving a legacy can truly be a family project.

People ask me why I do this. The truth is, this work didn’t start from a happy place. In 2019, my mother passed from cancer. In 2023, my father passed. I realized the truth of the saying:

‘When an elder dies, a library burns.’

Even though I’d been publishing books for more than a decade and had helped bring 85+ books to life, I thought I had more time with my parents. I was wrong.

That’s why I’m committed to helping as many families as possible create legacy books while they still can....

Don't let another day pass.

Your family's story deserves to be told.

It could just be the most meaningful hour you spend this week.
